Since 1992 Vernon Collis has dedicated approximately 15% of his time annually to academia. For 4 years from 1992 he lectured at the Cape Technikon in the Department of Construction and Architecture. From 1994 to 2004 he lectured, consulted and was an external examiner at the UCT Department of Architecture & Planning at both undergraduate and post graduate levels.
As an Honourary Research Associate he currently co-supervises sustainability research in the UCT Department of Civil Engineering MSc program. He also contributes to the 4th year Civil Engineering program and has been an external examiner (post graduates) at the same faculty.
